The AV685 hollow shaft encoders are built to withstand the harshest conditions, including dust, dirt, liquid sprays, and temperature extremes from -40°C to +120°C.
With a durable hollow shaft design, these encoders tolerate significant axial movements and handle more shaft runout than any other encoder available. The dual, replaceable sensors feature fully potted electronics and are interchangeable between AV485, AV685, and AV850 models. They also have high-power outputs that easily drive long cable lengths, providing the best protection against surges, wiring outputs to power, ground, between phases, or even short circuits.
The universal 5-24V design supports longer cables and is protected against wiring errors and surges.
Adaptive Electronics: At power-up, the green LED confirms that your AV5 Sensor is aligned with the rotor and reading signals correctly. If the AV5 cannot produce consistent signals at any time, the LED changes to red, and the optional remote alarm contact activates. However, the encoder continues to operate, giving you time to schedule maintenance. Wiring errors and short circuits that cause an over-temperature situation will be detected and indicated by the LED changing to orange.
