The AV56A THIN-LINE III™ magnetic encoder is designed for heavy-duty applications, providing a reliable, high-performance solution for standard 4.5″ C-Face motors such as Marathon Blue and Black Max, along with Baldor Reliance models.

Its rugged construction includes fully potted magnetic sensors to withstand contamination from dirt, liquids, and other harsh conditions.

With no glass disks or moving parts to wear out, the AV56A eliminates common issues faced by traditional encoders. The patented Wide-Gap™ Cam Screw Rotors™ provide secure mounting to the shaft and prevent sensor damage, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding environments.

This encoder features a universal 5-24V design, allowing it to drive longer cables while offering protection against wiring errors and surges. The AV56A’s digital self-tuning system ensures optimal performance upon installation, indicated by a green LED light. If an issue arises, the LED will change to red, and the remote alarm contact will activate. Wiring errors and short circuits are also detected, with the LED turning orange. Even when issues are detected, the encoder continues working to give you time to schedule maintenance.
